Food tip: Red Lentils are versatile, calorie efficient additions to a lot of meals

I've been utilizing red lentils in a variety of meal prep recipes for a little while, and I've recently branched out a bit with them. They don't have a strong flavor, they're high in fiber and protein, and add a lot of volume to dishes.

Red Lentils can be found in split and whole varieties. Split lentils cook quicker and get a bit mushier than the whole ones, which usually retain a bit more of a bite to them. The plus side of the split lentils mushier texture is that you can use them in different ways, for example mixing them with ground beef to create better-for-you meatballs and burgers.

I've been adding them to curry for the past couple of weeks with excellent results. Anyone else using these to great effect?
