So when you use a calorie counter like one built into an exercise bike at the gym, or (in my case) fitbit in exercise mode, does the estimated calorie burn count ONLY include calories above your normal TDEE? Or is it including those TDEE calories as well.
So, for example, if I have a TDEE of 2400 (for easy math) - that means I'm burning about 100 an hour on average over a day. If I take a leisurely bike ride for an hour, and fitbit says I burned 200 calories. Did I burn 200 EXTRA from biking, or would I have burned 100 of those watching netflix anyways and therefore only burned 100 from the biking?
Not a huge sway in my planning, but just curious, particularly since that can add up over a month.
Thanks!
