Hi everyone, I'm a 23F and 5'10". I've been lurking in this sub for a long time. In 2016 (at age 20), I was at my highest weight of 220 lbs. After getting dumped in mid-2016, I vowed to get a "revenge body" and lost about 40 lbs, primarily by eating less junk food (while still eating nothing but junk food). I reached 180 in March 2017 and managed to keep it off for almost a year. I never got below 180 because even when I was only eating one meal of fast food per day, that meal still had about 2000 calories. By mid-2018, I had gained back to 210 lbs. Fast forward to April 2019: I got dumped again (by a different person this time) and realized I was not living up to my potential. I had made some serious sacrifices because I loved this person so much (including turning down my dream job because it was 2500 miles away), and I was eating my feelings of jealousy and insecurity.
This time, I decided to make a permanent change - for myself, not in order to make an ex regret their decisions. I analyzed what was so appealing to me about fast food, and it was the convenience. When I'm hungry, I'm HUNGRY, and I'd rather have something immediately - even if it's total crap - than spend the time to cook. So I learned how to meal prep. I buy vegetables (broccoli florets, broccoli normandy, and mixed vegetables) and meat (rotisserie chicken, pre-cooked shrimp, ground beef, and parmesan-encrusted tilapia) in bulk at my local wholesale club, as well as brown rice at the grocery store. I prep 14 meals of 4 oz meat, 1/2 cup rice, and vegetables every Sunday and put them in glass containers in the freezer/refrigerator. For every meal (lunch and dinner), all I do is heat up one of my pre-portioned meals in the microwave for 3 minutes. I have a cookies & cream protein shake for breakfast, and an apple or plum with salted almonds if I need a snack. I drink nothing but filtered water (and occasionally diet soda if I go to see a movie or something). I also started strength training and walking on the treadmill. I hate running so I walk at 3 mph and have been steadily increasing the incline as I get fitter: first it was 3%, then 4%, then 5%, now 6%.
Anyway, I've lost 32 lbs in about 3 months (210 -> 178) and would like to share my progress. I'm at my lowest adult weight ever and I will soon be in the normal BMI range! I will be posting body progress pics once I get closer to my goal, so here are some face progress pics so far.
