Gained 10 pounds over vacation /// daily updates

I went to California for a week and let loose with all of the boba and taiyaki soft serve ice cream. When I'm at home, I don't let myself drink bubble tea and avoid unhealthy food, not because I don't want to enjoy myself, but because I know it isn't good for my body. I didn't mind not consuming "bad" food, but going on vacation was my mental break from it all.

I'm 5'3 and pre-vacation I was 114lbs, and my current weight is 124lbs. Seeing 124lbs on the scale was really upsetting and disappointing, because my goal before vacation was to eventually be 104lbs; going on vacation made this goal even harder.

Going all out with food was not surprising because I was restricting myself heavily for about 8 months. Mentally, I needed a break from the restrictive diet I had normally. Am I upset? Yes. But will I get back to my normal weight soon? Most likely.

Moral of the story: Learn to be confident with your body regardless of your weight. I was so unhappy with my weight pre-vacation, but now I would love to be my weight prior to vacation. When I initially weighed myself when I got back home, I thought to my self, "I will be so happy if I'm 114lbs again", but then again, I was so unhappy even when I was 114lbs, because I just wanted to be 104lbs. Be happy with yourself and love yourself regardless! Your worth is not based on the number on the scale.

On a regular basis, I do intensive cardio and weight lifting with a fairly clean diet. As frustrating as I am with myself with the weight gain, I know I needed the mental break with dieting and working out. Next time I'm on vacation, I'll make sure I'm more mindful with the foods I'm eating rather than going all out.

This is my first day back, I'll do updates with the vacation weight and I'll post updates with my weight. I understand that a lot of the weight gain can be from a lot of different factors, such as water weight.
