I thought the rules didn’t apply to me

I am 6 weeks postpartum with my fourth baby. I’m 32 and my oldest child is 6. I was very fit and muscular before my first pregnancy but haven’t seriously worked out for longer than a month at a time since pre-kids and I guess I’m feeling my age! I’ve lost the 30-35 pounds of baby weight every time (sometimes with 5 pounds leftover) through just watching what I ate. Last time I lost the baby weight in 5 months by just eating healthy and intuitively and breastfeeding. But this time the weight is just not coming off!

I basically am having to count calories and log it all. Which I HATE bc it makes me feel restrictive and I used to struggle with anxious and restrictive thoughts around food, eating and body image. But my metabolism must be so slow that even with the nursing I have to eat around 1600 calories a day to lose a pound a week. It’s slow going but better than being stuck where I am now! Just hoping after I lose the weight I can gain back enough my muscle to get my metabolism up again!

Anybody else have to track calories to lose?
