Weird question.. Did dieting help with digestive issues?

Has anyone had bloating or digestive issues that went away just by counting calories? Not really changing WHAT you eat that much, just how much of it and the rest happened naturally?

I have been struggling to stick to elimination diets to figure out what is causing my bloating, and would love to just be able to follow a diet I can be consistent with over a long period of time, and see if everything out sorts itself out just doing that alone.

Calorie counting/portion control is the only thing I have ever been able to do long-term, but even when I lose weight, my damn digestive issues have stuck around. But maybe I didn't give it enough time?
