I've been a long-time lurker on this sub and just wanted to start by saying that I'm so proud of you all and you guys keep amazing me every day. Keep it up!
Anyways, back to my dilemma. For background, I'm a 5' 05" female, who's at 145 lbs. I tried CICO over the summer, and even though I had started at 150, and gone down to 135 at my lowest, I wasn't able to maintain it and was never happy with how I looked. My goal weight was about 120, and seeing the numbers go down on the scale was nice, but once school started again, it was difficult to maintain-- pulling all-nighters led to midnight snacking and stress caused me to binge.
I'm not sure what to do, I've tried restricting my caloric intake but the TDEE said that my maintenance calories were about 1600, and limiting that has been increasingly difficult because it seems so low and I'm constantly hungry when I try to restrict. I'm also not opposed to exercising more; I just don't quite have the time to go to the gym for an hour every day, because my schedule's pretty packed. Over the summer, I was biking about 14 miles a day, to get to and from my internship, but now that the weather is colder and my schedule is more full, it's no longer feasible for me to implement that amount of biking into my day-to-day life.
Also, even though my "goal weight" is 120, my actual goals are more aesthetic- losing my belly and arm fat and having somewhat defined muscles. I've heard body recomping is something to consider, but I don't quite know how to begin and I don't really know if it's something that's really useful, overall?
Anyways, I would love any advice from anyone who has any idea on what I should do. Much appreciated and good luck to everyone on their journies!
