Tonight I made a new dish for myself because I was having a craving. Usually figuring out every individual item in a recipe is a pain, so I make simpler meals. But tonight I wanted something fancy and quite frankly I dont care for prepared crab cakes - so since I went through the work I thought you'd appreciate it too.
Crab cakes
3oz lump crab meat (I purchased 8oz in shell snow crab and got 3 oz from it) - 80cal
1/3 c panko - 120 cal
1 Tbsp finely diced celery - 0 cal
1 Tbsp finely diced red onion -0 cal
1/2 tsp dijon - 0 cal
1 tsp mayo - 40 cal
1/2 tsp hot sauce - 0 cal
1/2 egg - 40 cal
Old bay seasoning - 0 cal
Sprinkle of fresh dill- 0 cal
Salt to taste
2 tsp butter to fry- 70 cal
Pick crab from shells, break apart into lumps, but do not shred to oblivian. Add panko, celery, onion, dijon, mayo, hot sauce, egg, old bay, salt. Mix delicately. Form into two patties, cover with plastic wrap and let sit in the fridge for a few hours to come together. Fry in a few tsp of butter until golden on each side and cooked through. Enjoy your 350 calorie treat :-) I had mine with a side of diced strawberries.
