Hi everyone,
Progress pic for the impatient: https://imgur.com/gallery/Ii6DH5n
Some of you may remember a picture I posted about little over 3 months ago - it was of my old belt, into which I had lovingly punched 7(?) extra holes as I had been rapidly losing weight and feeling better and better by the day. I finally decided that enough was enough and that I’d just buy a new belt instead of limping the old one along one accidentally off-center hole at a time. It was great seeing the old belt at its loosest setting next to my new one to see exactly how much smaller I had gotten in just the first five months. At the time of posting, I was 255 (down from SW: 320).
Well, I’m disappointed to admit to you all that I fell off the bandwagon a bit...I’ve started punching holes in my new belt again. I’m 4 holes past where the “new” belt was meant to end, and now I’m forced with the brutally honest reality that I’ll likely have to buy a new, new belt. It’s crazy what another three months can do.
I’m down to 205 now, which is 115lbs down in total since July of 2019. I recently found out that my BMI is now solidly in the “overweight” category instead of “obese,” which was a fantastic milestone to reach. Now, one-derland is so close that I can taste it. Over time, it’s gotten easier and easier to stay with CICO. I eat 1200 a day, but most days, I have to go searching for some extra calories to get up to how much I should be eating. Getting into a routine and sticking with it every day has made a dramatic difference. I highly recommend prepping your calories at the start of the day so you know where/how you’ll spend them before the day even starts. This helps me cut out grazing and other impulse-intake, which has been an issue for me in the past. If I log the food in advance, it’s easier for me to tell myself that the portion size is nonnegotiable. As I creep closer and closer to my goal, I’m hopeful that I can get some helpful advice from all of my friends here about transitioning into maintenance - still feels odd to think about hitting my ultimate goal of 180, but it’s coming like a freight train, I can tell.
Thanks for all the support everybody - this community has rapidly become my favorite on reddit.
