Getting over my fear of being hungry

Hello again! I recently posted here about wanting to lose weight and I received some great advice. I now understand before I can lose any weight, I have to get to the root of the issue: my fear of being hungry.

A quick back story to make this understandable. I grew up poor. There were some days we would eat a normal balanced meal and others where we would have breakfast and that would be it for the day. Unfortunately, the latter was more common which I believe has lead to me being scared of being hungry. Because of this, I find that I always eat like this is the last bit of food in going to get for a long while. We aren’t rich but now things have definitely become easier. Of course, I’m still gorging when I eat. I know one solution is to snack on low calorie, high fiber foods but usually when they are present, they aren’t for me. They’re for my autistic younger brother because he’s such a picky eater. I would just get a job and buy my own snacks but my mom won’t let me.

How can I overcome this fear? Exercise is good but it’s not very effective when I turn around and gorge myself at different times of the day. I’m a 17 year old, 285 lb girl (Horrible. Ik). Thank you in advance!
