Advice needed from IF "fasters"

Hi, I'm trying out intermittent fasting or IF (mostly 16/8, sometimes 18/6 or 20/4) and I was wondering if anyone in a similar situation could shed some light on this for me.

I'm 20 years old, 5'6" and 140lbs, and am looking to lose 15 to 20lbs. Can this be accomplished with a mix of 16/8 and 18/6 (obviously along with clean eating) ?

Has anyone in the same height and weight category experienced success doing this? If so, how long did it take?

I've been really upset with how my body looks for as long as I can remember, and I honestly can't even go out in public wearing anything but jeans and a hoodie because I'm so ashamed and self conscious.

Again, if anyone in a similar position to me has had success, please tell what you did and how long it took! I would appreciate it so much, I really need to lose this weight.
