Just some tips - lost 10 pounds so far

So I recently decided to lose weight after I realized how much weight I’ve gained. I’m 155 pounds now and 5’5, so although I’m not obese it’s still big for my frame. I found a few tips that I want to share!

  1. Use chop sticks when eating. Everyone is talking about how you need to do eat slower but a lot of people don’t know how to. With chopsticks it takes mor time especially if you aren’t used to it

  2. Drink water 10 minutes before eating and 10 minutes after, don’t drink while you eat. This is more for comfort than anything. If I drink a lot of water while eating it just becomes uncomfortable to walk my dogs after dinner. I found out that If I just wait till after and don’t drink right before it’s easier to get up and moving after and therefore getting more steps in. And moving helps with digesting the food too.

  3. Don’t chew gum. A lot of people will start chewing gum when they get sweet carvings but that is a really bad Idea. When you start chewing on stuff you kickstart you digestive system and starts producing more salvia with enzymes to break down “the food” (your gum). And so when you don’t actually eat anything you body will feel cheated and you will get more hungry

  4. Honestly the small plate thing works, but a lot of people do it wrong. If you live alone it might be easier, but for those who have a family they live with it’s a bit harder to make it work. What I have found that helps is to have a small plate (one that can only fit a sandwich) for vegetables and protein and then have the vegetable and protein at the table. And have a small bowl for carbs on the side and leave the rest of the rice, pasta or what ever in the kitchen. Even if the other family members don’t need to lose weight they can still do this.

  5. Food wise what works for me is to have a pretty “boring” diet. Every morning I drink coffee and eat a piece of bread, I don’t like big meals. And for lunch I’ll eat yogurt with fruits or a sweet potato with egg. And dinner is usually rice, vegetables and eggs or fish. That is it. You don’t need to do this exactly but have stables. You can change up the fruit, the vegetables what you put on the bread and so on for variety but just have stables.

  6. Last but not least - more counts as exercise than just running and going to the gym. Go out biking, play just dance, dance in general for fun, jumping rope what ever. If exercise feels like a chore you just need to find something more fun. You might want to look like the girl/guys who lifts weights, but you don’t HAVE to. And the most important is just to get moving no matter what it is that you do.

Good luck everyone! :))
