So uh extremely long story short I have lost and gained the same 30-50lbs about three times now. I lost, gained, lost, and now back up about 40lbs. Time frames are all different but this last uptick was ridiculously fast (I’ll blame quarantine but I know I only have myself to blame).
Common sense tells me that I don’t know how to maintain. I know how to lose and (we all) know how to gain, but I just can’t seem to do maintenance. I keep doing the same thing I guess and expecting different results and now I sound insane.
I’m female, 5’9” HW 191lbs LW 137lbs CW 172lbs
I lost by eating idk average of 1600-1300/day. I didn’t think I deprived myself much. I used to go to the gym, did all the things this sub tends to recommend...so I don’t think I was unhealthy about it.
It seems like whenever I don’t track I gain weight. Does this mean I have to track forever? I don’t know if I wanna live the rest of my life attached to a food scale. You would think I would learn portion sizes by now but idk. When I am in losing mode I’m so attached to my LoseIt app and food scale. I would get anxiety about logging properly. I’m sure this plays a role into being shit at maintaining. I also eat my feelings. I lost my job during quarantine and have many other life stressors at the moment and I let it take control of me.
Are you a forever tracker? Can you eat intuitively? I feel like if I attempt to eat intuitively it’s too much and I slowly gain.
I don’t really know what I’m asking here. I guess any tips or feedback you have would be appreciated.
