Fitbit users, are you seeing a whole shitload of extra calories burned lately?

Hi all, pretty much my only exercise yesterday was a 2 mile walk that Fitbit says burned 600 calories (lol wut?). Yesterday was my birthday so I did a fair bit of eating which I don't regret at all, also did a fair bit of drinking into the wee hours, so I had a little bit of movement going on. Today I've more or less sat on ass all day chilling and watching movies, nursing hopefully my last hangover because I'm ready to leave the foolishness with my 20s, ha. Anyway, punchline is Fitbit says I've burned a total of 4,000 calories today, which is simply absurd. I know Fitbit always overestimates calories burned which is why I don't take it too seriously, at least not when it's synced in MyFitnessPal. My questions to you wonderful folks are:

  • are any of you seeing this same issue lately?

  • Is there any setting on the device that I should tweak to get more sane data?

  • Could it be a skin contact issue? Do you ever clean it?

Using a a blaze if that helps. Thanks so much!
