Once skinny, now don't know how to lose weight

Hi! I hope this is the right place for this, I really need advice or even solidarity from people who have been through similar.

Long story short, I've always been underweight/low healthy BMI skinny, then I went on anti-depressants and in the space of 7-ish months I went from 8.5 stone to 11stone (53 to 69kg - 5'7", 23 y/o) nearly putting me in the overweight category and I am mortified.

But although I've always been skinny, it was skinny-fat, I never exercised, I ate at least 2 full meals a day etc. And was mostly active at work. I work now (waitressing, so I'm on my feet, rushing around) generally have a meal and a half a day, but nothing seems to shift the weight. I'm trying to be more active on my days off, but because of my past, I have 0 stamina (I get overheated, breathless after 30 seconds of jump lunges, for example), and not sure how to ease into it more.

I'm not used to being this size. I'm getting myself more depressed again because I can't fit into half my clothes and hate my reflection (my fat distributes horribly), I just want to lose 2 stone and be happy again.

My question is how can I lose this weight? And exercise without being self-conscious? And has anyone else been or are currently in a similar position?

Thanks x

Edit: I'm also genetically predisposed to diabetes so this is really also a huge worry health wise. So again, just any advice really would be amazing!
