I'm so excited and just want to share :D
So, I'm a 5'11 male that has fluctuated in weight my entire life. I've been 130lbs (2010 was rough) and at my highest I was 345lbs. I primarily gained weight because of an unchecked eating disorder and a bunch of mental health issues. Thankfully, I got help and as of February, I started on the journey to lose the extra weight.
I am naturally a muscular and thick person. I used to long-distance run for years and also lifted weights quite regularly. I got bulky just from the weight lifting, honestly.
Because of my naturally stocky and sturdy frame, my goal is to get to 240lbs. Then from there, I'll see if I want to lose more or just maintain.
Anyways!
I have been working out 3-4 times a week with kettlebell and medicine ball weight training and cardio. I also have myself on an eating schedule for all three meals. Breakfast has been cottage cheese, mixed berries, and granola. Lunch is usually an open-faced piece of toast with tahini or cheese. Dinner is usually whatever salad or baked vegetable bowl that I've made (lots of chickpeas, lentils, and tofu). The biggest thing that has made a difference is actually paying attention to portion sizes.
Thanks to following an easy meal plan and doing weight lifting workouts I enjoy, I've dropped 45lbs in 6 months!
My goal is to lose 60lbs by July of next year.
Who knew consistency and holding yourself accountable actually worked :P
tl;dr
I started at 345lb. I just hit 300lb. My goal is 240lbs.
I started following proper portion sizing, a set mealtime, and working out consistently.
