Hey all! Long time lurker but never posted in here before.
For my backstory: I started at 315 lbs (142 kg) and in August 2016 decided to make a change. In December 2017 I weighed 210 lbs (95 kg), which I thought was a great accomplishment. Here’s the issue, though. I have about 10-15 more pounds to go (6’2” male/188 cm)...though I absolutely can’t shake it. I know my body is at homeostasis and comfortable at this weight because regardless of how much I eat, I don’t gain weight (I know this is partially due to my stressful workout regimen) and for the record I DON’T care what the scale says, it’s a composition issue, not a weight issue.
My issue is strictly with dieting. What can I POSSIBLY do to make myself stick to a diet and stop cheating? It starts small enough..a couple extra handfuls here and there, but by the weekend I’m binging on Chick-fil-A and whatever else I want. I’ve heard good things about positive affirmation (looking yourself in the mirror each morning and telling yourself what you’re going to do), but I’m not so sure. One day I want to be a competitive athlete (CrossFit and Olympic Lifting) but I’m not there yet, so it’s difficult for me to use that as my motivation.
Any tips/tricks/advice that has worked for you, someone you know, someone that someone you know knows lol I’ll take whatever. I’m motivated enough, but it’s a willpower issue. I would greatly appreciate whatever you guys can do to help out! Thank you :)
