Hello and nice to meet you all here !! So i have been checking out these new fads of fasting. The strange thing is, long before these fasting trends started, i was doing some of these fasting trends myself 15 to 20 years ago with no advice or media etc. I just found that if i starved myself for say 4 days a week and then had a few pig out days to eat what i want, i would lose weight. Most times it did work and i lost the weight i wanted but sadly i would usually gain it back eventually. Now here's my current situation and hope you people can help:
42 yo male. Without even doing any planning and without knowledge of the 16:8 diet for example, i already tend to never be hungry in the morning or afternoon so i never eat and i mean never in the morning or afternoon. I normally don't get hungry till around 8pm most evenings. I eat whatever most days ranging from 8pm to around midnite. Sadly though i don't seem to ever lose weight and have been stuck around the same weight (about 30 pounds overweight) for the last couple years. I quit smoking over a year ago too and now i seem to have an appetite all the time...... So what am i doing wrong?
I will be honest though as i do drink coffee with cream and sugar during the day but its never more than 1 large coffee and i do tend to have possibly one sugary beverage during the day. So minus that one coffee and possibly 1 carbonated sugar soda during the day, i consume nothing else. So where am i going wrong as without even knowing, i am almost doing the 16:8 other than im not only drinking water or black coffee etc during the day. Thoughts? I know i am probably better off going back to my old way of fasting. I used to pretty well starve myself for like 4 to 5 days a week by eating nothing other than apple here and there and maybe a small bowl of special k, or 1 bowl of tomato soup for approx 5 days and then on the weekends i would eat whatever i want. I found i lost weight this way and it came off quick. So the 16:8 diet is obviously not for me? Anyone else have stories, advice etc to help me out? ask whatever questions as well, in case i missed any details. Thank you all!!!
P.S. - Maybe i am not tracking calories correct and this could help with 16:8 fasting? Please help !!
