Hello. I'm a 18 year old male looking to lose some weight. I'm 73kg (160 lb), 178cm (5' 8'')
I've always been on the "kinda big" side, never been one of those skinny boys (nor a fat one). I recently got more concerned when I started noticing a bit of man boobs. I went to the gym for about 3 years and I quit some months ago because working out never felt good at all. I have also had like eight sprains on the same ankle so running has always been difficult for me.
Anyways, because I'm not doing any kind of physical activity I figured out I could lose weight simply by using the only trusty method I feel exists out there: CICO. I've downloaded the Lose It app several times over the course of the last two years but I always seem to fail because most foods are hard af to track. I also live with my family which makes it difficult to choose what to eat (for example, if I lived alone I wouldn't buy a bag of chips, but because my family does buy junk food I always give in to the temptation). Luckily, my calorie intake is easier to control at the moment because It's summer holidays here and I'm waking up at around 1pm, so I skip breakfast and go straight for lunch.
I'm desperately looking for any tips that may be useful for me. I know how CICO works and I know how simple it is, I'm just looking for some advice regarding my situation. My weight has always been a problem for me which affects my self esteem and my social skills (for example, not attending a pool party or having to wear a shirt when everybody else isn't), so anything you know that might help me can be useful
Idk if this helps, but I've tracked my weight last year, at around the same time after peeing.
