My acanthosis nigricans is almost completely gone.

For those who don’t know, it’s a skin condition that makes folds/flaps in one’s body brown and wrinkly. I’ve had it bad in my armpits and back of my neck since I was a kid, and towards my heaviest it developed pretty significantly in my inner thigh/groin. Since then I’ve lost 50 pounds, and even though I’m not even close to my goal, it’s almost gone. It’s completely back to normal in my groin, my neck discoloration is completely gone (but the wrinkles are still shrinking) and my armpits look completely normal after a shave and heavy scrubbing, but it’s getting better by the day. It’s so satisfying and surprising that something I’ve dealt with my whole life is disappearing so quickly. I can’t wait to wear tank tops again, though I’m a little hesitant at the present moment since my pits are still a little brown. I also had unrelated patches across my chest that are now just vanished. I was told to wash them with a special cream when I was heavier, but it smelled bad so I quit. Turns out I just had to lose a little weight! It’s shocking how many medical ailments are weight related, and how much I was in denial about how bad I looked.
