Hello all! Thank you for reading this I appreciate you. :)

Obligatory “on mobile please excuse formatting” statement.

I’m a bit on the reluctant side with posting, mostly from embarrassment and shame, but I figure putting myself out there, talking to others and fully immersing myself in this journey is the best way to go. So here we go!

I’m a 29 year old female, I’m planning on gastric bypass surgery and currently weighing in at 494lbs. To get surgery I need to lose at least 40lbs but I’m hoping for more as the more I lose before hand the better success I’ll have in the long run.

I’ve always had an unhealthy relationship with food. As a child there were many times that we didn’t have food in the house. Talking through therapy, we believe that’s a big factor in my over eating and anxiety around food. I’m presently working on “mindful eating” and learning to listen to my body. I had a really bad binging episode this past weekend. A lot of it was anxiety, I couldn’t stop my brain. I decided to make a plan this week.

I know one of my biggest downfalls is poor planning. When I successfully lost 50lbs years ago, meal prep was my friend. Anytime I don’t have a plan, I make poor choices because I usually go for something fast.

I’m presently doing a modified Nutrisystem diet. Adding some extras in to make up for it being too low calorie for my weight. Like Premier Protein shakes between meals. Today went well and I know it’s only day one but I’m proud of myself for making a plan and getting everything I need.

I’m working hard on remembering to drink water. I don’t stay as hydrated as I should. It’s something I’m trying to keep on my radar.

If anyone has some advice on moderate exercises I can do I’d greatly appreciate it. I work a sedentary desk job I have a Apple Watch and on average only get in about 2miles of movement. My body is always really sore by the end of the day so I’d like to figure out something that will get my moving but not hurting too much. I’m thinking about swimming I’m really lucky in having a job that pays 80% of my gym membership cost and belong to LA Fitness.

Thanks again for reading I can’t wait to go look through this post and read your stories.
