How do you find out if you need to actively lose weight?

I'm currently 25, 5'2 and 125 lbs, but it has been a while since I weighed myself so that could have fluctuated a bit. My eating habits have been weird in lockdown, sometimes when I'm anxious I eat a lot and sometimes I don't eat at all. I probably don't weigh much more than 130 though if I have gained some.

I have a bit of a skewed view of my own body? I weighed 100-110 lbs for a long time and then developed hypothyroidism around age 23. Combined with hitting my mid 20s, I put on some extra weight and I don't carry it super well. It's ALL in my belly and thighs, with just enough in my face to make a difference.

Last time I talked to my doctor, she said I was fine. I'm still well within average BMI, but my body is just so ugly now. I've always had stretch marks (I mean does anyone not have stretch marks??) But now they're so much more pronounced.

I also feel like such a hypocrite for telling people to love themselves and focus on their health, not their appearance, when I'm ashamed of hitting a perfectly average weight. (I guess that's not really relevant, I will be bringing it up with my therapist though.)

I guess I'm just trying to figure out if I NEED to actively lose weight, or if this is more body image issues? I can modify my diet to not GAIN more weight, but I'm not sure how far to go with it.
