Sometimes a change of scenery can make a huge difference in your fitness journey.

Hey everyone.

Just wanted to give a bit of advice or motivation for those who may hit a standstill in their fitness journey to lose it! For many months I fell into a routine that rather bored me and left me unmotivated more and more each day to get in the gym.

I belong to the YMCA in my local area, and there’s quite a few locations. Many of the locations however are older, almost 40 years old, as is the equipment in them, are rather small, and don’t offer a large array of things different areas of fitness to bring different people in (I’m looking at you dungeon YMCA that smells like death).

It wasn’t until about a month ago I decided i need to change something. My workouts were always good once I got there, but it was incredibly hard for a while to get the motivation to get to the gym, and I lived RIGHT ACROSS the street. Literally can see it from my backyard.

Anyway, I decided to check out a different location about a half hour away that was only a year old. It’s a massive gym with brand new equipment, boxing area which really excited me as I have boxed in the past, a brand new State of the art swimming pool and a massive CrossFit section for my CrossFit bro’s plus more.

I fell in love the second I got in there. I never wanted to leave. Since then, I plan my day around going to the gym again and I’m as motivated as ever, which I haven’t felt for quite some time.

Essentially the message is sometimes in different aspects of life, just a change of scenery can be a worlds of difference. And in this case, I don’t mind a bit driving that far for something I love to do again than walking across the street.

Cheers!
