JUST A PSA BEFORE EVERYONE TALKS DOWN ON ME FOR TURNING TO MEDICATION:
I'm a healthy female in my 20's (4'9) and am very physically active and have been for the past two years.
I'm not obese or overweight, but I was prescribed this to help overcome a nasty binge eating disorder I developed this past year. No matter what I tried to diminish or keep these binges to a minimum, I find myself binging 2-3 times every week for the past year. As someone who works so hard to stay on track and keep active, its EXTREMELY disheartening to have your progress unwind week after week. I've been putting on weight due to my binge eating habits and despite how hard I try to remain at maintenance or even a caloric deficit to lose the weight, I just end up screwing up. Ive tried almost everything to try and get out of it but at this point im feeling so defeated.
With that aside, i've been taking 15mg of phentermine this past week and have noticed I feel some chest tightness, elevated heart rate, and a whole lot of anxiety. Has anyone else gotten chest pains and if so how do you make them go away? Because I keep thinking im going to get a heart attack or something but this medication has taken away any desire i have to binge and I don't want to give up on it so soon. I have no underlying heart conditions or problems of that nature.
