When Your Body Rejects Food

Okay, so it’s not quite what you think.

I had an interesting experience this evening at work: I went to the break room to get some water & coffee, and I noticed some Dove dark chocolates up for grabs. I decided to snag one because, hey, it’s chocolate! Mind you, I’m pretty sure I hit all of my macros at lunch (which I took from 2:20-3), so I wasn’t in dire need of a pick me up. I proceeded to eat the chocolate I took. Would you believe it had zero taste? It did absolutely nothing for me, to the point where about 10-15 seconds later I ended up spitting it out into a paper towel and disposing it.

I don’t remember the last time I had experienced this. My body literally said: we don’t need this. Did the enzymatic composition in my mouth change to create a less enjoyable taste because I was not in need of junk calories? It was quite fascinating.

Has that ever happened to you where treats you could typically make room for before just fall flat once ingested?
