some wisdom needed

first time poster here! (please do forgive any grammatical mistakes as english is not my mother tongue) ive always struggled with my body image and weigth, to a point where i can vividly remember remember feeling like trash shopping or going to the beach as a kid. I'm now 24 and about 6', wierdly enough my recent breakup (weigth was not an issu fyi) has given me the opportunity to get in shape, especially in the context where i work and study from home and have a more flexible schedule. I started my journey in aug/sept at about 240 and i am aiming for 180. i have been eating healty, i also did a ton of work on my tendency to eat compulsively, i exercise (climbing and mat exercises at home) and walk regularly. I am currently down to 214 but it seems ive hit something of a plateau. I"m a bit reluctant to count calories (i keep loosely track but i mainly eat instictlively) as i know its a trigger for me. If you have any tips/tricks shoot!
