My First Day.....Again!

How many first days have you had? I'm going on my 5th first day in the past two weeks....What will make this one my final first day?

A little bit about me and my background. I'm a 24 year old female struggling my way through medical school spending 80% of my awake time sitting behind a desk studying or in clinic walking 40 steps from room to room. I've gained 40 pounds since my wedding in July of 2018 (lost 20 before the wedding). I'm the heaviest I've ever been, the most disgusted I've ever been to look in the mirror, and the most afraid of the scale I've ever been.

When I lost weight last year, I had time to go to the gym, to cook myself healthy food, and to stay motivated. I have struggled to find the time since starting in the clinic and have succeeded in finding pathetic excuses.

I'm joining this reddit post today for an attempt to find some accountability with people who are accomplishing their goals. After doing some reading tonight, I am feeling quite motivated to lose some lbs!

As of this morning's horrendous experience with the scale I weighed 179.0 lbs. I'm only 5'2" putting my BMI at 32.7 (Obese). Being in medical school, I know how important maintaining a healthy BMI is for your overall health, and I am ashamed to know that I am in the obese category. One of the #1 reasons I am ashamed of this, is because I know how to lose weight, I know the recommended amount of physical activity, I know what foods I should be eating, and most importantly I know what advise to give my patients who are experiencing the same problem.

My goal is to be 149 lbs by 2020, and 135 lbs by June 2020. Long term goal from there is to maintain 135lbs. My WHY for wanting to lose this weight is to have experience in helping my future patients lose weight, while being a role model to them to know that it is indeed possible.

Expect more from me, as this is just my beginning!
