Almost 5 months ago, I left my stable, stressful government job, and decided to take back my mental and physical health.

Now, I'm broke AF, but I'm happier than I've ever been since entering adulthood!

I discovered the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting just a few days before leaving my job. I decided "why not?". I was gonna be broke soon anyway, so eating less food was in the works anyway.

5 months later, here I am!

P.S. If you guys wanna know, I was a government accountant for 3 years. Maybe the worst decision of my life. But, I had to take the job because my wife was pregnant with our first baby. I needed the stable paycheck, and I thought it was the only way to slowly secure our family's future.

I used to bring all the stress home from work, and I used to be a mess everytime I came home. I would binge-eat to cope with the stress; that's how I gained so much weight throughout those 3 years. I fell into a terrible episode of depression, and attempted to take my own life, from the pressure of work and trying to raise a family.

Now, I'm a freelance accountant. Yes, I make less money, but my mind is also freed up from all the stress from work. Whenever I'm stressed, I would just play with my baby, and I'm good to go again!

I also have more mental clarity to focus on my goal of losing weight and committing to my diet. Overall, being broke ain't that bad!
