Hi Reddit
My father is a 65 years old pensioner, ex judo player, and trainer. Been very active most of his life, even if he is obese from his 40's (130-135kg- 175cm). 5 years ago my father had a work accident and his back broke, now he has a metal plate with 6 screws in his back. Also both his knees need surgery, he is walking with the help of "sticks" right now. The problem is that, if he does not lose 30 kg, he cannot get the surgery for his knee. Right now he cannot make a lot of movement, so exercises are very limited. How can I help my dad lose 30 kg considering he cannot make to much movement. Also, he has gout and psoriasis(to make an idea of what he can, and cannot eat).
We had today a conversation when he admitted that he is super down sometimes, not being able to move, and that literally broke my heart. Knowing me is such a strong person, for him to say that, I know it's serious.
Please let's help him, I am determined to help him and be there for him but I don't know what to do!
